About Global Scuba

A more personal way
to dive New Zealand.

Built around one principle: serious divers deserve better than crowded tourist boats and fixed departures. Every expedition is led personally.

The Philosophy

Better Diving Through
Better Planning.

Global Scuba was built from the idea that serious divers deserve more than the standard tourist experience. No crowded boats. No fixed schedules. No cookie-cutter departures.

Every expedition is shaped around conditions, visibility, terrain, and the people on board. Richie knows these waters—he doesn't delegate.

When conditions change, plans adapt. When a site isn't working, there's the experience to find something better. That's what a boutique operation looks like.

Dives Worldwide

Richie has spent years learning New Zealand's waters—not from a textbook, but from hundreds of dives across the country's best sites. Global Scuba isn't a deliberate choice to run things differently. He leads every trip personally, from the initial briefing to the final debrief.

No assistants. No faceless handoffs. When you dive with Global Scuba, you're diving with the person who knows these waters, makes the calls, and takes responsibility for your experience.

The Vessel

8m Purpose-Built
Dive Vessel.

The 8m purpose-built vessel is set up for diving—not fishing. Every detail supports the experience: tank storage, dive deck layout, safety equipment, LED lighting for low-light and night-dive conditions, and platform design.

Richie operates from multiple departure points: Mount Maunganui, Coromandel, and Northland. Site selection depends on conditions, not a fixed schedule.

Weather-led planning means trips are arranged around what the ocean is doing. If conditions aren't right at one location, there's flexibility to move.

Full Gear Support Available

Tanks, weights, full dive packages, and Nitrox available. Bring only yourself—or travel light with just your cert card and a desire to dive.

Small-Group by Design

Maximum 4 Guests.

Trips are capped at four guests by design—not convenience. This allows for real one-on-one attention in the water, flexible site selection based on conditions and goals, and a premium guided experience that larger operations simply can't offer.
